As the honey season comes to a close, we’re excited to wrap up our annual honey haul and share some incredible numbers that highlight just how much our Lansdale bees have accomplished. It’s been a fantastic season, and none of it would have been possible without the support of our amazing customers. So, grab a cup of tea (with a drizzle of honey, of course), check out the deets of our 2024 honey harvest!
With the help of our hardworking team of 1.5 million bees across roughly 25 hives, this year’s honey harvest was nothing short of awesome. These little pollinators visited about 3.8 billion flowers to collect the nectar that was transformed into the Lansdale Honey you know and love. Just to put that into perspective, that’s the equivalent of every person on Earth visiting about 500 flowers each!
All that buzzing resulted in 84 boxes of honey, producing a grand total of 1,900 pounds of honey. That’s about the same weight as a fully-grown grizzly bear or a small car! It’s nuts to think that something as light as a bee can create such a massive amount of honey over the course of a season.
Breaking Down the Honey Harvest
To give you an idea of just how much honey we’re talking about:
1,900 pounds of honey could fill about 380 5-pound buckets.
That’s enough honey to sweeten 182,400 cups of tea
It’s about the same as 9.5 average-sized adult male
Or, if you prefer baking, that’s about 60 honey cakes you could make!
A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Customers
